Memories

"Hold On To Memories" by Disturbed

"Take the ones you love / And hold them close because there is little time / And don't let it break your heart / I know it feels hopeless sometimes / But they're never gone / As long as there's a memory in your mind"

This song came on during my drive home from work tonight.

Memories... so many memories with Graham and Savannah that we will never share.

What would it have been like?  What would they have been like?  What would they have loved to eat?  What sports would they have liked?  Would they have liked sports?  How big would they have grown up to be?

What would their voices have sounded like?

   That one really gets me...

But here is the thing... like anything that is rare, like anything that there are so few in existence, like anything that cannot be replaced, our memories of Graham and Savannah are worth more than all the money and all the riches in the entire world.  They are so special to us... so incredibly special that having them in our hearts makes us feel like the luckiest people on the planet.

How could that be?  We are so sad... so heartbroken... so full of sorrow.  We had our dreams stolen from us... we had our future taken from us.  What could possibly undo that kind of pain??

Our babies.  Our children.  Graham and Savannah.  That is exactly who can undo that kind of pain.

And although they are few - way too few than we had hoped for - we have our memories with our babies and they remind us how lucky we are to have had these beautiful angels in our life.  They are a gift to us... they have changed our lives and will change this world as a result.

And like the song says, we will hold on to their memory and as a result we know they will never ever be gone.  They will live on ... through us.

And through all the sadness and all the pain somehow we can sit here and honestly say...

"How did we get so lucky to have the most perfect kids in the world?"

Love you forever Graham and Savannah...
