Savannah Celeste and Graham Albert

We were finally able to have the doctor tell us what sex our babies are.  It was not quite how we envisioned discovering the sex of our children but the moment was still full of incredible, overwhelming emotion all the same.

We have a baby boy and and a baby girl.

Savannah Celeste (formerly known as Baby B) and Graham Albert (formerly known as Baby A).  Celeste is my wife's grandmother's name and Albert was my father's name.

Just as they have been from the second they were created, they are our children.

And now they have their names.

When the doctor gave us the information he immediately followed the news with "Yup... the perfect twins."

I know what he meant... my wife and I had answered the questions a million different times the previous 4 months.

   "What do you guys want???"

We would smile awkwardly knowing that aside from the obvious desire for their health, we did have an inkling of a preference.

"I mean... it would be nice to have a girl and a boy and call it a day!"

All along my wife said she felt it was a girl and a boy while I insisted it was two girls.

But back to the doctor saying "the perfect twins"...

Our twins are perfect but not because they are a girl and a boy.

They are perfect because they are OURS and they have already begun shaping our lives in ways we never could have imagined.

I have felt love like I never knew humanly possible.  For my wife.  And for Savannah and Graham.

My God how I love them... I know what so many of you are saying.  "Ryan we TOLD you that would happen!!"  And you were all so right.  This kind of love is truly beyond all possible explanation and without Savannah and Graham I would never have been able to experience it.

They have already done more for me in their short lives than anyone or anything has ever done before.

We will face this head on using our love for them and their love for us like a shield to protect us from whatever happens.  From whatever our fates will be.

Another minute down... on to the next one...
